The universities include London School of Economics, University of London, Charles Sturt University, University of Adelaide, University of Queensland, University of Otago, American University (Washington D.C.) and Bemidji State University, among others.

Recognition from Professional Bodies and Quality Assurance Agencies

HELP has obtained Multimedia Super Corridor Status and accreditation by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) for their programmes as well as recognition from professional bodies such as CPA Australia, ACCA UK, CIMA UK, Malaysian Legal Professional Qualifying Board and Australia Computer Society amongst others.

Microsoft Authorised Academic Training Programme (AATP)

AATP is a formal technology training and support programme, certifying students as Microsoft Certified Professionals (highly trained in Microsoft development tools and system products).

Sun Authorised Java Centre (AJC)

HELP collaborates with Sun Micro¬systems, offering certification programmes for students’ enhancement of ability and knowledge in Java Technology.

Winners of the Ericsson Kacip@Cut-Edge Award

HELP’s IT students won the top 2 prizes (student category) in the prestigious Ericsson-DIGI Edge Developer Idol Competition Ericsson 2004 and Kacip@Cut-Edge 2001/02 and 2002/2003 Awards. HELP is the first institution in Asia to develop and launch five WAP-based information systems in 2001.

Continuing Recognition from Top IT Companies

HELP has been named an Ericsson Associate by Ericsson Malaysia, the latest significant alliance with major IT com¬panies. Apple Malaysia also provides open access to and training in WebObjects 5.1, enabling students to design and develop customised high-performance Java server applications.

HELP University

Computer Facilities

HELP has extensive computing resources for its students which include Hewlett Packard, Dell and Siemens computers networked to various leased lines linking Internet and interactive video learning and email. There are also 2 Enterprise Digital Alpha, 10 computer laboratories with approximately 400 computers, including two multimedia and internet labs, and eight incubator laboratories.

Learning Resource Centre

The Learning Resource Centre provides students with access to a large and up-to-date collection of text and reference books, journals and magazines as well as services like loans, reservations and photocopying and online searching for information on the internet.

ProQuest® Information and Learning offers students access to online information service that provides access to thousands of current periodicals, newspapers and others. The library includes materials in subjects from Asian studies to zoology, for audiences ranging from undergraduates to Nobel laureates.

The Curie Science Laboratories

The Curie Science Laboratories of HELP are ultra-modern laboratories fully equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, equipment and essential safety features. They are furnished with all the necessary facilities to run practical sessions for science courses.

Accommodation

The Student Accommodation Department assists students in seeking suitable accommodation in HELP’s student apartments or in local residential areas.

Extracurricular Activities

The Department of Student Affairs plans and implements programmes for students’ social, interpersonal and organisational skills and inculcating the sporting spirit through involvement in over 30 academic and sporting clubs and societies.

Academic Counselling

Education Advisors provide academic guidance to students in choosing the most suitable careers and courses.

International Student Services

The International Student Services Department enhances the welfare of all HELP’s international students, assisting in airport pick-up, admission, application and renewal of student visas, etc.

Training and Career Placement Services for Graduates

The Graduates Career Placement Programme assists participating corporations in identifying suitable jobs and training opportunities for graduates and organises workshops for graduating students on writing resumés, attending interviews and suitable job selection.

A placement service for a two-week intensive residential programme in Australia and the UK enables students to develop team-building and leadership abilities besides acquiring self-esteem and personal skills.

Scholarships / Financial Aid

Scholarships and Bursaries are available for all pre-university and undergraduate students on the basis of academic merit and financial need. More than RM8 million has been given out.

There are other scholarships like:

  • Sports and Extracurricular Activities Scholarships (recipients have included national badminton players and gymnasts)
  • International Scholarships from many renowned international universities
